ITHSCI achieves successful ADISA ITAD Essentials recertification

T Hardware Services has successfully completed its recertification to ADISA ITAD Essentials following a rigorous two day audit of our IT asset disposal processes and data sanitisation practices.

For our clients in Jersey & Guernsey, this provides independent assurance that the processes we use to handle retired IT equipment and sanitise data have been assessed, including how those processes are carried out by our team.

Assessing the processes behind secure IT disposal

The first day of the audit focused on assessing risks within our core IT asset disposal processes. This examined the practical steps that support the secure handling and processing of equipment entrusted to us.

Retiring IT equipment involves more than removing devices from service. Computers, servers and other storage devices can retain sensitive information, making the way they are managed at the end of their working life an important consideration for any organisation.

Independent assessment helps ensure these processes receive scrutiny beyond our own internal checks.

Putting data sanitisation to the test

The second day included ADISA’s Technical Test, a rigorous, real time evaluation of our data sanitisation effectiveness.

The assessment examined more than the tools used to sanitise data. It also scrutinised the procedures surrounding their use, including quality control and staff competency, to identify potential risks arising from human error or weaknesses in processes.

This matters because effective data sanitisation depends on both the technology and the people operating it. Clear procedures, competent staff and consistent checks all contribute to protecting information when equipment is retired.

Continued assurance for our clients

Successful recertification reflects our continued commitment to maintaining independently assessed IT asset disposal practices.

For organisations choosing an IT disposal provider, it offers reassurance that our approach has undergone external examination, including a practical evaluation of data sanitisation effectiveness.

We would like to thank our team for their work throughout the recertification process and their continued attention to the standards behind our service.
